As the end of the year approaches, two pension decisions come particularly into focus: contributions to Pillar 3a and voluntary purchases into the pension fund. Both measures can noticeably reduce the tax burden in the current year while simultaneously strengthening retirement provision. Nevertheless, assessing them is difficult for many people, as tax effects, cantonal differences and individual life situations vary greatly.
Against this background, Tellco is providing new online calculators. For year-end planning, the Pillar 3a calculator and the pension fund purchase calculator are particularly in the foreground. The tools work without registration, are free to use and are based on current cantonal tax and pension data.

Pillar 3a calculator: tax advantage and comparison of solutions
The new Pillar 3a calculator shows individual tax-saving potential based on just a few details. In addition, it compares long-term differences between an interest-bearing account solution and an investment solution. This makes it possible to map key questions regarding the optimal contribution amount and the appropriate 3a strategy in a comprehensible way.
Pension fund purchase calculator: effect on taxes and retirement benefits
The pension fund purchase calculator calculates the possible tax reduction through voluntary purchases and shows the effects on future retirement benefits. The tool offers guidance for pension gaps, after career breaks or in the event of a changed income situation.
Nine languages for broad access
All calculators are now available in nine languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Albanian, Serbo-Croatian and Turkish. This means that Tellco is also addressing international specialists and families who want to plan pension decisions in Switzerland in a clear and canton-accurate way.
“For international employees, getting started with the Swiss pension system is a real challenge. Digital tools in one’s own language reduce inhibitions and enable well-founded decisions,” says Heinrich Bruhin, Head of Pension and member of the Executive Board of Tellco Bank Ltd.
